The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to sleep with their infant while ensuring they're sleeping safely. Its smooth gliding motion is able to lull your baby back to sleep. Its innovative features ensure that you can monitor them without leaving your bed.
The cot's side panel sliding lifts and lowers with the push of the button, making it a breeze to reach in and soothe a crying infant at night. It has 11 height adjustments to fit almost any mattress size. It also has adjustable folding feet so that it's at the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is padded and comes with mesh sides for increased airflow, and the mattress is made from high-density foam for extra protection. It can also be cleaned, so you can keep the crib clean. It is fitted with a mattress sheet that is suitable for the crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for beds, is compatible with a wide range of beds, including divans. This is due to the straps and clips that connect it. It can be used as a stand-alone crib if it isn't connected to the bed. It has many wonderful features that were designed with baby and parent bonding in mind.
One thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is perfect for newborns, it won't last long once your child is six months old, so you will require larger cots. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent buy. She was impressed by its sleek design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was an affordable price for a cot with such innovative features. She also liked how it appeared in the bedroom and believed that its grey colour would suit most modern homes. She did mention that it's not a good idea to rock a baby in the early years because it could create an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It has a drop-side rail which can be easily lowered to feed your baby at night without having to wake your child or get up - it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.
We love that it's made from soft materials with breathable mesh sides that promote airflow and ease of use. cot for bedside comes in oak or charcoal with a variety of melange fabrics that will blend with most decor styles. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed with the legs securely clicking into place and the zips secure to ensure baby safety. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video or customer support number available if you run into any problems.
Alongside the usual features you'd expect from a bedside crib, like being able to connect to your existing bed using a stay-in place connection system and six levels of height The CoZee also comes with an additional incline option which can be used to alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine washable, a necessity for all the dribbles, vomit and snot that comes with having a baby!
If you want to keep your baby close to you during the first six months of their life when they're beginning to learn to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great option as it can also be used as a separate crib, changing table and toddler bed. It can also be transformed into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it won't be able to magically bring your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock the baby and take them to school.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's most expensive options, but it comes with a lot of features. It's designed to function as a side sleeper or standalone crib and is suitable from birth up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with the new mechanism. It is also more adjustable than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings as well as retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of use offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and downwards with just one click of a switch. This was particularly helpful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
The side panel can be removed on its own however it isn't recommended as this increases the chance of your baby falling out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism guarantees that it will only stay down when attached to the bed of the parent correctly. This is a great feature to have for peace of mind, particularly when you're breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers, thanks to the telescopic legs. It has a tilting feature for babies with reflux, as well as the ability to rock to ease them into sleep after eating. It's also very large and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, however it does come with lengthy instructions. Ideal for feeding at night and enhancing your bond with your newborn.
In contrast to other models of bedside crib, the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. Its dual-view mesh sides as well as airflow mattress that is breathable and hypoallergenic increase airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline helps to ease colic and reflux, while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby during the night.
The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you require to start. It took us around an hour to assemble and was relatively simple. The only drawback to the instructions was that certain images did not have captions. This made it difficult to follow the instructions. Overall, the procedure was simple and the materials used were of top quality.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for women who are breastfeeding or have had C-sections. It lets them reach out and touch their baby for comfort and feeding without having to leave their bed. It's great for parents who don't want to deal with the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot or getting them out of it.
During our testing we observed the gliding motion of this next-to-me crib to be particularly useful in helping babies fall asleep after midday and nighttime feeds. The drop-down sides make it easy to feed or soothe babies during the night. This was a big selling point for our tired test moms.
